It's (supposed to be) that quirky asari scientist, Liara T'Soni, from the game Mass Effect. In glasses. No, she does not wear glasses, and I have no idea how those glasses are staying put with the whole I-don't-really-have-ears thing she has going on, but whatever. A wizard did it. |

I don't think Bioware has explained how they even hear things yet.
The asari have a circle of ridges and folds just behind their jaw, where our ears are. I imagine that's where their earbuds are located.
That or they hear with their nose.
